Farming community located 8km east of Maryborough, on the Pyrenees Hwy. 1850 saw the district government set up a township at the meeting of 2 creeks and consequently Carisbrook was established July 1st, 1851 and named Carisbrook after a village on the Isle of Wight. A very important location for the first police camp.
