Located on the banks of the Murray River and the shore of Lake Mulwala, a man-made lake joining the twin towns of Mulwala and Yarrawonga. Elizabeth Hume, sister-in-law to the explorer Hamilton Hume, was the first settler in Yarrawonga. During the 1860's, the area was opened up for closer settlement.
