Its claim to fame is being home to Berri Estates Winery, the largest winery and distillery in Australia. The town was gazetted in 1921 and was first planned as part of the Berri Irrigation area. It is named after Captain Glossop of the HMAS Sydney, which sank the German vessel Emden in WWI. ACCESS: Car via the Sturt Hwy.
